The Issue

Harold "Harry" Christy is a US Army combat veteran and a 28-year law enforcement officer (retired US Secret Service and former DC city OIG). Harry was prosecuted by the Biden administration for taking off-duty action against unlawful subway dancers in the DC Metro.  This situation is like Bernie Goetz or Daniel Penny, except no one was hurt.  Harry was nevertheless prosecuted and convicted in DC Superior Court for misdemeanor assault, then terminated from his District job on the basis of the conviction.  All without benefit of a jury of his peers.

This conviction means that Harry will likely never work in law enforcement again, even though the Trump Administration is now sending National Guard and Federal LEO's onto the streets of DC to do exactly what Harry did.   Harry has spent over $200K on lawyers, and is appealing the conviction and termination, so will be spending even more.  As you know, with political crimes, the process is the punishment.

Harry asks that the DOJ withdraw this prosecution, or alternatively that President Trump grant him a pardon.
