Another Mallorcan Town Is Replacing Horses With Electric Carriages
Another Mallorcan town is preparing to get horses off its tourist carriages.
Muro Town Hall and local carriage drivers have now been presented with an electric replacement, with the new vehicles expected to take over from horse-drawn carriages in Playa de Muro from next year if final approval is granted. Muro would follow Alcúdia, where electric carriages were introduced in 2025. Meanwhile, Palma is still relying on another voluntary agreement without a binding deadline for removing horses.
The excuse that replacing horse-drawn carriages is too difficult is becoming harder to sustain when other towns on the same island are already doing it. Palma has the alternative. It needs a deadline. Please keep signing and sharing our petition.
