The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board this week posted a progress report on the Lake Harriet bandshell area reconstruction that includes an update on matching the bandshell's original blue color.

The paint match this time around was aided by the accidental discovery of a leftover shingle painted in the bandshell's original blue color. It was being used as a shim in a storage area of a nearby Park Board maintenance facility. The match was confirmed against interior storage areas of the bandshell that also were in the original hue.
The restored color should start showing up by mid-May.
