We extend our gratitude to the Parks Department for installing four permanent post and nets on the existing pickleball courts at Leif Ericson Park which allowed access to this sport to everyone.

As the sport of Pickleball has gained enormous attention and participation, we are proposing the addition of four more temporary courts to meet the increasing demand for players of all levels and ages in our multicultural community. Many tennis players of the adjacent courts already play pickleball as well and we enjoy their company and competitive presence they bring to the sport, therefore, it only makes sense to create few sharable space for us to expand on the tennis courts and reduce wait times. 

We ask the city to paint 4 more Pickleball courts on the 2 adjacent tennis courts to be used with temporary nets which will allow 16 more players to play and reduce the pickleball wait time by half. Tennis court are underutilized especially in winter month and it would benefit the pickleball crowd greatly to be able to expand in that area.

We the undersigned believe that this enhancement, share usage for both Pickleball and Tennis, will contribute to a more enjoyable recreational experience of our fast growing community at Leif Ericson Park.
