BOYS & GIRLS CLUB – QTRLY FINANCIAL MTG POSTPONED TO 11/8
Greetings Pacifica parents and community, In anticipation of the Quarterly Financial Mtg on 11/8/22 (Postponed from 10/26/22) at the B & G Club, we wanted to highlight some questions and points of discussion:
OUR PRIORITY: We encourage the decision to continue with in-person meetings being held quarterly, as we are trying to prevent the slow cancellation of parent involvement.
1) Parents have asked to receive the financials several days ahead of time, in order to review and prepare questions. This request has now been approved, so we anticipate being able to be well prepared going into the 11/8 mtg.
2) The meeting on 11/8 will now be in person, as well as a Zoom link provided, for those who wish to join virtually. I’ll post Zoom link as soon as it is sent out.
3) We are asking that financials have sufficient footnotes to determine the full details. For example, government funding – What agency? One year or multi-term? What are the other Foundations and Corporate donations being made, what are their names and details, and are the restricted or unrestricted funds?
4) We also would like the current budget with explanatory footnotes to compare financials from before, to see if any of our goals have been reached.
5) What is the update on Bingo? It appears there is a launch delay, and Bingo was earmarked to be 20% of our budget. In addition, what was the net revenue of Chipotle and Panda Express events?
6) What is the status of our B & G Club Pacifica Board Members – We see on the website there are only three members now?
7) As we expected, turnout has been low at the monthly meetings that do not discuss any financial info. For this reason, the B & G club has decided, without consulting parents, to distribute monthly newsletters instead.
However, it appears that the quarterly financial mtgs will be both in-person, and on Zoom.
Again, we encourage the decision to continue with in-person meetings being held quarterly, as we are trying to prevent the slow cancellation of parent involvement.
We look forward to this important financial meeting, as we continue to navigate our Pacifica clubs being on our own, as Charter clubs.
We will provide an update to the community soon after this 11/8 meeting is held,
In Solidarity,
Erin Pickett
