Update - 4/28/22
Please read the following news article regarding the events of this morning!
We received word from the city council that the clubs were indeed staying open, however, that information was apparently "premature" and was subsequently taken down mid-morning.
When, and if, we do get an official release from the Boys & Girls club regarding the clubs staying open, We would like to CONTINUE to advocate for the following:
1) We need a STUDY SESSION initiated by the city council to meet with the decision makers at the B & G club, to look us in the eye, BE TRANSPARENT, and tell us exactly how this plays out 6 months down the road when the merger is final.
2) We need the city council to develop a policy around this issue, so that everyone on the council is working with the same information, actions and end goals in mind.
3) We need PARENTAL OVERSIGHT of this study session and the subsequent actions of both city council and the B & G club, so that parents can ensure that our clubs stay open FOREVER, and are NOT shuttered in 1 to 2 years, as we have been hearing is the plan.
