Thank you to everyone who has signed this petition against the criminalisation of buskers in Oxford. Whilst the aim of this petition is stop PSPO powers being used against buskers, we also want Oxford to put in place busking guidance that supports and sustains a vibrant street culture in the city. York City Council recently scrapped a restrictive busking policy and replaced it with new guidance agreed by buskers, businesses, Keep Streets Live, Equity and the Musician's Union. This model of progressive busking oversight could work equally well in Oxford without the need for criminalising buskers, read more about York here: http://keepstreetslive.com/articles/2015/05/1301 BBC News are now coming to cover tomorrow's busking protest in Oxford. We are meeting at 12pm sharp outside Pret A Manger (nearest HSBC) on Cornmaket and playing music in various spots until 5:30 that evening. It would be great to see many of you there, especially if you can bring musical instruments! This is a link to the Facebook event tomorrow. Feel free to join it and share it with your nearest and dearest: https://www.facebook.com/events/749538838499756/749927368460903/ Thanks once again for your support, Jonny Walker Founding Director of Keep Streets Live Campaign http://keepstreetslive.com
