We have until 18th November to respond to the council's plans. Click here for a link

There is a meeting to put together a Community Response on Wednesday 9th November 8.00 - 9.00 at St Luke's, Canning Crescent. The labour councillors, lib-dems, independent and Green Party candidates will be there.

Here is the latest blog: How will Bertie Park Shrink? It would be great if you could take 1 minute to read/like/share/follow.

Some of the biggest problems with the council's plans are:

The MUGA is about 12m away from kitchen windows. There will be noise problems!

When you look at the plans, there is a surprising amount of green space. The reason is that both the MUGA and the play area are smaller than before. The other thing they have done is remove the fence at the edge of the recreation ground. This means that the really steep slope down to the ditch looks like extra green space. Most of this will obviously disappear as the ditch fills up after rain.

The only green space for kids to run around on is on site B, which the police say is not suitable for unaccompanied children.

If you look at the plans for the new, smaller children's play area, a large part is for park benches. This means the new children's play area will be half its current size. ... but there IS nowhere else to put park benches.
