Overturn Citizens United

The Issue

🚨 Fight for Healthcare Justice! 🚨

The Citizens United v. FEC ruling has turned our political system into a playground for big corporations, allowing them to pour unlimited money into campaigns. This means industries like Big Pharma and insurance giants can spend billions to keep our healthcare system profitable for them and unaffordable for us.

It's time to take a stand!

Overturning this disastrous decision is crucial for making not-for-profit healthcare a reality for every American. Right now, profits come before patients, causing medical costs to skyrocket and leaving millions without the care they need.

Hey Everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to sign this petition. As my time in Grad school wraps up, I want to focus my final semester on a macro-level issue in the United States which I am passionate about. This petition is part of my final capstone project for my UNR MSW Graduate Program.

I have firsthand experience living abroad with healthcare systems that are not designed to profit from illness and suffering. I have also experienced the struggles of the current American healthcare system as I navigate being denied student healthcare due to my MSW program being online and my MSW program requiring unpaid internship hours which has kept me from working full-time hours to qualify for employer healthcare.

Furthermore, as a QMHA and Children's Mental Healthcare Provider, I see the devastating effects that our current inequitable, ineffective, and unaffordable system has on families in America.

This is merely the beginning of the work I intend to do, fighting for Healthcare for All in the world's wealthiest nation. It is unfathomable that the U.S. is the only major developed nation in the world that does not guarantee healthcare to its people. We always have money to fund war and other countries that enjoy social services such as subsidized housing, universal healthcare, and affordable education.

It is time to fight for healthcare in this country and the first step is stopping greedy corporations and lobbyists who LEGALLY bribe our politicians due to this disastrous Supreme Court decision. ✌🏼💜
