The Issue

We call attention to amendment 3 in the state of Missouri concerning reproductive rights and propose its overturn. As it currently stands, the amendment allows for the termination of a human life up to the point of gestational viability without specified restrictions and no specification of a medical professional. Many argue that this compromises the sanctity of life, given that abortions may be carried out regardless of the stage of pregnancy. We need to foster a society where every life, planned or unplanned, holds inherent value and is respected. According to amendment 3, this is no longer an argument of human life, but the value of life. The overturn will call for not only the establishment that the unborn are indeed human beings with natural rights, but the ideals to value life itself by personal rights. With the overturning of Amendment 3, we are calling to action a reform across all avenues in which infants and children are involved.
Refusal to release: As it currently stands, a failed drug test or psych evaluation results can’t keep parents from leaving the hospital with a minor unless an imposed, immediate threat to the child’s life is made. Medical professionals would have the ability to protect human life in postnatal care from labor and delivery, to the postpartum wing, all the way to the exit of the facility. Medical professionals would have the authority to not have to release the infant into parental care if deemed unsafe and have the ability to request psych evaluations and drug tests to parents before leaving hospital to make a fully informed decision whether the infant could safely leave the care facility. The overturn of Amendment 3 through this Petition, we are advocating for rights for medical professionals, social workers, and DFS workers to have legal weight to consider failed tests as reason for intervention on a child’s behalf. That there should be equal to rights to infant as to the mother. That they can work equally on behalf of the infant’s safety and equally support the mother through care and assistance that doesn’t end with the infant leaving a facility fully aware they aren’t safe. If the patient would fail a psych evaluation, drug test, and deemed unfit by way of professional diagnosis to take care of an infant, medical professionals have the right to involve authorities based on these broader specifications.

Protection to Rights, Care, and Value of Life Foster Care and Adoption Reform: This would enable the adoption process to be quicker, with more ease, and less financial burden. To establish a budget line in the Missouri state budget that to goes directly to benefit the foster care system for better quality of life while waiting for a forever home. Making facility upgrades, basic hygiene and care needs met for every infant, child, and teen while transitioning to a new home. Tax payer dollars intended to use to fund abortions and gender surgeries for minors would be used to support the expansion of jobs within DFS, Social Workers, Retired Cops working DFS as it relates to the Foster Care System. These job opportunities would not only help strengthen the economy, but the families or individuals in which these jobs would support. It will also give furthering support to the vulnerable within the Foster Care Network.

Value of Life: Establish Women’s Assistance and Care programs that benefit every life from mother, baby, and or children. Not under a banner of right or wrong, but the value of life. Every woman pursuing an abortion will make fully informed decisions with all alternative avenues presented. With the overturn of Amendment 3, Missouri would be established not only as a Right to Life, but a Value of Life state. Medical professionals would have the consent to not perform abortions for women under the banner of mental distress, inconvenience, mistake, or disillusionment. Medical professionals would be obligated to perform ultrasounds at all medical facilities administering care for women’s health where abortion would be considered.

We appeal for a restructuring of these regulations that will safeguard inside and outside of the womb; a safeguard that can be an umbrella over decisions concerning minors' medical choices. This petition also advocates for the protection of patient privacy and parental rights, ensuring that minors will not make critical medical decisions, such as undergoing hormone blockers or gender changing surgery, without parental knowledge and or consent. These changes will uphold patients' and parents' rights and protect lives from inception. Please join us in pushing for a culture of life and responsible decision-making. Sign the petition today.
