SUBJECT: I Will Not Back Down Until You Reform Ontario’s Broken Addiction & Mental Health Laws

Premier Ford, Minister Jones, and Attorney General Downey,

The current Ontario system is financially broken, heartless, disconnected with families daily agony and deeply complicit. As Ontario taxpayers, we are absolutely furious that our hard-earned tax dollars are being weaponized by your broken bureaucratic frameworks to subsidize destruction in our streets. Let's be brutally clear: handing unmonitored cash transfers to citizens completely lost to psychosis and severe addiction is not compassion it is state-funded indifference/abandonment and a direct public pipeline into the pockets of drug dealers, fueling the collapse of our communities.

We are utterly exhausted watching our income and property taxes fund a horrifying reality where our children are walking the streets half-naked, drugged up like zombies, screaming at wall corners, and terrorizing young minds in our public parks. We flatly refuse to sit back while our hard-earned money turns our once safe neighborhoods into lawless encampments resembling third-world refugee camps.

We demand you stop hiding behind academic textbooks, stop wasting our tax money to finance this crisis, and overhaul your broken laws immediately:

1. Tie ODSP to Recovery: Stop handing out unmonitored checks to citizens with severe addictions. Make funding conditional on psychiatric care and rehabilitation.

2. End the 72-Hour Release Loop: Amend the Mental Health Act. Stop releasing psychotic patients back onto the streets after 3 days. Hold them until they are stabilized.

3. Stop Weaponizing Rights: Overhaul the Health Care Consent Act. System-funded lawyers should not be used to help delusional citizens refuse life-saving psychiatric treatment.

4. Bypass the Drug Dealers: Force the ODSP shelter allowance to go directly to landlords via "Pay Direct" to stop evictions and cut off funding to illicit drug markets.

5. Give Families Legal Power: Reform the Substitute Decisions Act so desperate parents can legally intervene before their children end up in encampments or body bags.

We are done watching our communities rot while the province finances the destruction with our money. What is your exact plan to fix this?
