URGENT: YET AGAIN, ANOTHER LANDSLIDE—THE ROAD IS STILL SLIDING AS I WRITE

As I write this update, the road in the Morne Aux Delices area is still sliding. This is no longer simply an inconvenience—it is an urgent threat to the health, safety, movement and well-being of the people of the South East.

The reopening of the Petite Savanne–Delices Road is long overdue. Many of us hoped that the recent Delices Reunion would have provided the necessary push to finally reopen this vital road. But if an event of that significance, which brought people home and placed attention on our community, did not get the road reopened, then we must ask:

What will it take for us to get our road back?

Are we waiting for the entire mountainside to collapse and completely landlock the communities from Grand Fond to Delices? Are we waiting for lives to be lost before urgent and decisive action is taken?

For too long, the health and safety of the people of the South East have been compromised. Families need dependable access to healthcare, schools, employment, emergency services, businesses and essential supplies. Safe road access is not a luxury—it is a basic necessity.

We urgently call upon the Government of Dominica and the responsible authorities to:

- Reopen the Petite Savanne–Delices Road as a matter of urgency.

- Provide the public with a clear update and definite timeline for its reopening.

- Conduct and publish a proper risk assessment of the affected areas.

- Provide safe and reliable alternative access while the necessary work is being completed.

The people of the South East deserve answers. We deserve action. We deserve safe and reliable access.

If the Delices Reunion did not get us our road, what will?
