Websites such as OnlyFans dangerously blur the lines between consensual adult content creation and exploitative situations. The platform encourages young women to commodify themselves in exchange for financial gain, effectively encouraging a form of digital prostitution.

This is not merely a personal gripe or unproven allegation. A 2020 study by the University of Leicester found that online platforms like OnlyFans can be hotbeds for exploitative practices and are often linked to coercion, abuse, and human trafficking (University of Leicester, 2020).

Furthermore, an investigation by BBC uncovered numerous cases of underage individuals using the platform and circulating sexually explicit materials - clear violations of the platform's stated age restrictions and a disturbing manifestation of the exploitation problem (BBC, 2021).

As an online society, we must take steps to deter such activities and protect the vulnerable who could be exploited for financial gain. By outlawing operations like OnlyFans, we can make a significant stride towards a safer, more respectful digital environment.
