As COVID cases and hospitalizations continue to rise in Oakland, the OUSD School Board must take urgent action to ensure the health and safety of Oakland’s children. OUSD has already received $300 million from the state of California in COVID relief funds, LAUSD is using a small part of their COVID relief funds to provide mobile testing units that will visit every school once a week to provide mandated COVID testing for all staff and students. OUSD must do the same. 

At the August 11th school board meeting, please support the resolution from School Board Director Mike Hutchinson that would make COVID testing available 1-2 times per week at every Oakland school.
