Hey everyone,

It has officially been one week since I launched this petition, and I just want to say thank you to everyone who has signed, wherever you are. We are already at 17 online signatures, most from right here in Illinois, including one from Paxton, which absolutely blows my mind. If you are the person reading this from Paxton, HELLO! I SEE YOU!

I have started gathering supplies, and good news, I got the OK to door knock in Bourbonnais! If you live here, you will probably see me around soon.

So far, I have collected 8 Bourbonnais resident signatures on paper and 4 from surrounding communities like Limestone and Grant Park. It has been incredible to see how much support there is, not just here in Bourbonnais but across the rural communities around us.

I have also been handing out safety whistles as part of this effort. These are a simple but powerful tool for keeping each other safe and aware. If you have signed the petition and have not gotten a whistle yet, I highly recommend picking one up. They are free and it is one more way we can all look out for our neighbors.

I will keep sending short weekly updates to share progress without filling up inboxes. Thank you all for your support and for reminding me that community really does travel farther than we think.
