Howdy everyone 👋 Vitoria-Iris from the UNIty team with today’s update.

Over the past week, we have contacted Student Unions across Victorian universities, the National Union of Students, and major news organisations, currently excluding Murdoch-owned outlets.

We are hopeful that increased union engagement, alongside media coverage, will help sustain momentum and keep attention on this issue.

We have also received feedback suggesting this campaign is political. To be clear, campaigns like this inevitably intersect with politics, however this campaign is grounded in student voice and student power at Swinburnne. It is not about advancing a political group, it is about achieving the outcome outlined in the petition, a transparent, student-led process with open submissions, genuine feedback, and a fair vote where every student has an equal say.

Our additional inquiries exist to provide students with a non-biased reporting pathway to support better outcomes for all.
