SPOTTED Revised Movie Screening Schedule at OTH

Thank you for voicing out your concerns! We are currently close to 1.7K supporters on the petition. 

Though I have not been personally contacted by any  OTH personnel, Ms Veronica Yong nor Mr Joseph Rajendran,  I have noted that  OTH has made some attempts at replacing a few of their initial movie titles. (Don't worry. Not stalking the place. I had to come here again for multiple errands today. Also helps to have friends about! ) 

In the photo montage appended with this update, I have included the programme schedules for the biggest screen in OTH. (I can't seem to be able to fit in the montage pic i made which shows the schedule of the other big screen.) 

FESTIVE PLAZA Schedule (largest screen in the heart of OTH, ground floor) 

F1:  Updated 24 October, 3.21pm

F2: Updated 25 October, 11.52am

F2 schedule shows that they have replaced 'King Kong: and 'Fast and Furious 7' with 'The Kid Who Be King' and 'Dumbo' during the 1pm to 6pm belt, Sunday. 

The updated OTH programme schedules also now reflect which movies are rated PG-13. The A3-sized programme schedules for both screens can be found on a panel beside the OTH info counter. 

However, as the incident of Kal Ha Naa Ho strip club scene, it is clear that even PG-rated movies may still carry questionable sexualised  content which makes undesirable and negative impact on the young.

The most vulnerable segment of our society are the young.

As such, there is still a need for a proper review system of how media content is selected for screening  at  public communal spaces like OTH.

As mentioned in my earlier update, these PG and PG 13 may be legal for screening. However as we are concerned about the most vulnerable members of our community, we ought to apply a more sensitive and discerning approach.

Though I have received some earfulls of disparaging comments eg  'if you don't like the content, take your children somewhere else ' and 'if you don't stop bubble wrapping your kids, they will become hard to handle', I  am heartened to know that for every dissenters, there are many more individuals who see the value in protecting our young from undesirable media content in public spaces. 

So if you have also received disparaging comments for your support of this petition, I want to encourage you to take heart. We are not alone. 

Thank you once again for your courage and willingness to stand up for our young. Our voice for them is growing louder as people are continuing to sign this petition!

Once I have any reply to my request to be put in contact with the relevant media programming personnel for OTH (sent to Mr Rajendran and Ms Veronica on Friday 0039H or my last Facebook post on their page yesterday evening, I will most definitely update all of you here.
