I want to touch base and provide everyone with a brief update since the petition and ensure you that we have not just sought signatures and left it at that, we are still pushing! Since the petition, Shelly and I applied to speak at Wollongong Council's meeting dated 20th April, this can be viewed here:

I have today received an email form Council advising there will be "pop-up" events next week where the community will have the chance to speak with Council members and raise any concerns and/or thoughts in regards to some of the plans they are considering.
The details are: Wednesday 27 May 9:30 – 11am nearby the playground opposite Port Kembla beach
Friday 29 May 3:30 – 5pm nearby Port Kembla skate park

Whilst I do not believe what is in these concept plans will address the "hooning" issues, any further measures to ensure pedestrian safety is a positive.
Please try and get there so that we can provide input and speak up for the community. Maybe a skatepark gathering on the Friday arvo? If you are unable to attend, you are also able to provide your feedback in the link above.
