Today I and another roller skater shared our concerns for future roller skate park.
Here is what I said today to our San Diego City Council Meeting for July 26th, 2022:
"Thank you for your time and attention in acknowledging our formal public invitation to a family-friendly public roller skate park, also known as a roller skate rink, in our great city of San Diego. We sent an email on July 22, 2022, to your official emails regarding our "Our San Diego City Deserves A Public Roller Skate Park Online Petition" to work together in making our great City of San Diego the best city in America!
A future public roller skate park will have a tremendous public benefit.
We, roller skaters of San Diego, are confident the City of San Diego can explore ways to either redesignate a certain public area as a public roller skate park area or start the discussion on building a future public roller skate park.
Therefore, we are requesting, that today, the San Diego Mayor and City Council members place our proposal for a PUBLIC ROLLER SKATE PARK on the Agenda for the month of August for further exploration by our San Diego Mayor, City Council, and the public."
San Diego City Councilmembers and the Mayor may vote to approve to place an item on the Agenda for next month. Therefore, I specifically requested the item for "Our San Diego City Deserves A Public Roller Skate Park" to be placed on San Diego's City Council Meeting for the month of August.
We will be contacting the following officials to have our proposal placed on the San Diego's City Council Meeting in August:
Todd Gloria, Mayor of San Diego City
Joe LaCava, Councilmember of District 1
Jennifer Campbell, Councilmember of District 2
Stephen Whitburn, Councilmember of District 3
Monica Montgomery Steppe, Councilmember of District 4
Marni von Wilpert, Councilmember of District 5
Chris Cate, Councilmember of District 6
Raul Campillo, Councilmember of District 7
Vivian Moreno, Councilmember of District 8
Sean Elo-Rivera, Councilmember of District 9
