Hi all, I wanted to let you know that we now have 742 signatures on this petition.

Thank you so much for your support!

We recently updated the focus of our petition gearing our efforts toward the owners, Laguna Point Properties ("LPP"). It has come to our attention that the previous decisions made by Greystar Management were silently spearheaded by the owners, LPP, in an attempt to scare the previous SB Residents into moving out so that LPP can renovate the buildings without providing relocation assistance.

Since we last posted an update, two months ago things haven't gotten much better but a lot has changed.

LPP served about 50+ tenants who were paying rent and covid impacted with UD Summons for court. None of these tenants have been evicted thanks to the support of the tenants in the union and our partnership developed with The Eviction Defense Network through Attorney Onica Valle Cole.

LPP originally hire 3 separate law firms to represent them in the UD cases they had filed; (gathering details on the firm names). From Oct 2022 (3 months) until the present day, none of the eviction cases have been judged in favor of the owners. As such the owner not only ended their business relationship with Greystar Management, replacing them with FPI Management they have also fired the three law firms representing them in their UD cases for one firm; Stein Law Group.

Now that FPI Management is in the office not much has changed for the tenants, FPI is still ignoring tenants' maintenance requests, emails, and phone calls, and the office staff changes if not more, once a week. Transients are still accessing our buildings, giggling at door handles, squatting in vacant units, and harassing/threatening tenants.

On November 28, 2022, the SBTU Committee hand delivered our Joint Formal Complaint, five (5) pages consisting of a two-page cover letter, and a three-page appendix that listed the most processing issues among all five properties requesting a response by January 1, 2023, of how they planned to rectify the issues and present the tenants with a timeline. This document also included a stipulation that if they ignored our request for acknowledgment and resolution we would be withholding rent, publicly protesting, and cooperating with the media sources that have reached out to us.

Of course, they haven't responded, so we move to Phase 2, The SBTU vs LPP!

Join us in continuing our efforts to publicize the tenant horrors caused by Laguna Point Properties until we get the results we need.
