The majority of the students at Otterbein University would agree that fall semester 2020 at Otterbein University was one of the hardest of their academic career. If not the absolute hardest. The attitude of non-stop work is disastrous for the mental health and physical health of even the healthiest, most prepared students. If you have anything less than ideal health conditions, you are bound to fail in this setting. Students are struggling with mental and physical health--and then they are expected to acheive a certain level of academic success in order to move on from this impossible year. Without having breaks, we have no time to reset and recharge. We are dropping like flies and need regular moments to catch our breath, which without regular break days we cannot acheive. In all honesty, we need more than one break. We need time to be okay, time we just don't have now.
