Vacant Publix Facility Not for Sale - Doesn't End the Need

Hi Everyone,
I have reached out directly to Ms. Choudhry for comment on the project, but have yet to hear anything back.
A few of our CROA Board Members had the opportunity to meet with Ms. Choudhry and Ms. Beth Knight (Deputy County Manager). They were able to bring the topic of the facility up and confirmed that while the Sheriff feels the vacant Publix facility is ideal, the County only wants to purchase a space and not lease space. The County is not interested in investing money into updating the Publix facility either with the required technology and security that would be needed.
I think it is clear that even if the previously discussed vacant Publix facility is not an option in the County Commissioner's Eyes, that it doesn't eliminate the need for this substation elsewhere on West 192.
Please continue to share the petition and show our leaders that the residents and Sheriff need this station in the area, and it isn't tied to a single parcel of land or particular facility.
In fact, there is a 6 acre, vacant land, greenfield property just two blocks from the previously proposed site that is for sale and on the market today.
