CALL TO ACTION: Spread the word re *NEW* Parks & Rec Survey to Determine Future of Aquatics in SB

CALL TO ACTION: Santa Barbara’s Aquatics Community

A *NEW* Parks & Recreation survey is expected to be released around October 1. According to Director Jill Zachary, the survey results will help determine which projects are prioritized for funding.

We need your help:

1. Spread the word at the pool. Make sure swimmers, coaches, and other members of the aquatics community know about the survey.
2. Take the survey. When it is released, make your voice count. Help the City understand that aquatics facilities need to be a priority—including the approved Ortega Park Pool and, ultimately, a major aquatics center somewhere in Santa Barbara.

Why does this matter? Past community surveys have shown relatively little interest in improved aquatics facilities, due to lack of participation. That lack of response can easily be interpreted as lack of need—and the result has been that adequate aquatic facilities have historically not been a priority.

Complacency has consequences. Let’s make sure our voices are heard this time.
