Free Holiday Parking in city lots is getting a lot of attention lately with the petition going to city council; they decided to take it as information only.  Hopefully something will come of it soon.  It's alongside another petition that is very important to me.

But the bigger picture is the rest of the year; with surrounding cities with some form of free parking year round; Bracebridge, Midland, Gravenhurst.  This city wants $3 an hour along the main street while Toronto is asking for $4 an hour on the Danforth!  We can't compete and the streets are noticeably quieter with few shoppers during what was supposed to be our busy seasons; summers and now Christmas.

Please support small business by getting legislative services with the city of Orillia to stop "driving" people away with exorbitant parking rates!
