Over the past year, fisheries managers in southwest Oregon worked with stakeholders to draft a conservation management plan. In the plan, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is proposing to continue the harvest of wild winter steelhead for the Rogue and south coast watersheds of southern Oregon.

Please provide your comments to the Department encouraging them to adopt catch and release regulations until the necessary monitoring is in place to inform these decisions and increasing the bag limit of hatchery fish. If we don’t know, let them go.
