On May 9, 2024, three young Engineers Panthi Jadeppa, 31, Siva Magadev, 23 and  Sushant Krishna Nayaru 23 died in a horrific incident inside Jindal Steel Plant in Bellary, Karnataka due to negligence and complete lack of safety procedures of the company.

These 3 people were inspecting a tunnel when all of a sudden huge amounts of water flooded the tunnel, washing them away and dumping them into tanks nearly 80 feet deep.

 It is beyond imagination how a multi-billion dollar company like Jindal Steel has such poor safety systems. This is not the first time such an accident is happening in Jindal Steel plant Bellary.

 Over the years, several employees lost their lives inside the plant.  Prime Minister’s Office should order an independent technical investigation to identify the lapse that led to the death of the 3 people, take appropriate action against the company and ensure the company install the requisite safety systems to avoid such unfortunate accidents and loss of precious lives in the future.
