As a member of the orchestra at Cobb Middle School, I've come to appreciate the value of consistent practice and hard work. In our daily classes, we focus on perfecting our group performances, which leaves limited time for individual practice. That's where StormIE comes in. This time is a rare opportunity for students to focus on our instruments individually. It also cultivates a sense of community and togetherness.

However, since StormIE takes place only once a week, it barely scratches the surface of the practice needed to excel. Increasing StormIE to twice a week would immensely benefit students - allowing Mr. Hosein to give students helpful criticism in a less structured environment, and to better prepare for significant events like All-Region, and Solo & Ensemble.

Many of us face busy schedules at home, doing homework and extracurricular activities, which leaves minimal time for individual practice. Being able to use school hours for additional practice would be both effective and helpful. More StormIE sessions mean more opportunity for us to focus, practice, and learn, making it a beneficial change for the orchestra and Cobb.
