Councillors Preparing to vote on housing vs recreation precinct

21st February is the deadline set by Orange Council to receive submissions on the Draft Local Housing Strategy. It was this strategy that proposed the land surrounding the Orange Kart Club's track be rezoned and developed for housing.

Our contention, and that of several other motorcycle clubs is that it be retained for recreation use that is expanded to offer the full range of motorcycling disciplines capable of being licensed through Motorcycling NSW. Submissions expressing this sentiment have been sent to Council and we have been successful in getting coverage through our local media. Yesterday, representatives of a few clubs made use of the shade in the abandoned horse stalls which we waited for the journalist and photographer to arrive.

We will be closing the petition after one more push towards the magic 1,000 supporters. If you can distribute the link to your circle of friends, we might get there.
