OPRF HS & Free Speech

This OPRF HS petition was circulated back in July, 2022: https://www.change.org/p/oprf-leadership-please-adopt-a-civil-discourse-and-critical-thinking-statement?redirect=false  It is even more relevant today. 

We were able to get over 100 signatures over a year ago. Now that we all see what is happening on college campuses, I am asking that you revisit the above change.org message and possibly share with friends, alumni and OPRF HS community members if you feel compelled to do so.

The vast majority of OPRF HS students matriculate to college campuses and so aligning with such free speech principles now will only help our students navigate their next phase of life. I propose we also have an OPRF class on the history of free speech in our country where the school invites guest speakers.  You have to wonder if OPRFHS's culture and climate would be more welcoming and vibrant if we had such a statement in place.
