Help NOW by telling your council member:
"Support the residents of the community by organizing a meeting with neighborhood representatives to meet with the City Attorney, City Planning and the LBPD to discuss why they are not protecting the residents and enforcing a Conditional Use Permit on the new 7-Eleven at 311 Redondo."
Primary points:
• If 7-Eleven substantially expands the operation from previous owners legal non-conforming use (hours of operation, alcohol sales, footage of store, character of store) then the City must enforce a Conditional Use Permit to protect the residents of the neighborhood;
• 7-Eleven intends to operate 24 hours a day and expand the hours of alcohol sales from the previous owner in a census track that is over-saturated with twice the number of liquor licenses and 295 feet from a school;
• 7-Eleven is seeking to operate 24 hours a day, next door to our neighbors; this a substantial expansion of a liquor store operation in a Commercial Residential Zone, which violates of state and city codes and regulations;
• 7-Eleven is seeking to change the existing hours of alcohol sales to 6 am-2 am; this is a substantial expansion of hours from the previous owners of the liquor store and thus a violation of state and city regulations;
City officials of Long Beach are to represent and protect the residents safety, property, health and quality of life.
Your continued support is necessary!!!!
Also, note community residents are challenging this issue at the State level, with a protest filed with the ABC on 11/27/17. Protesting Applicant: 7-Eleven, 301-305, 311 Redondo Avenue, Long Beach, Ca
