Greetings All!
Thank you for your interest in staying informed about developments at Forsyth Park Garage at Whitaker and Park Avenue. There is a small window of opportunity for the public to address City Council on a decision to increase the cost of the garage. We created a letter writing campaign, (here), since no public comments are allowed for Agreements.
City Council meets this Thursday, August 14, to decide if more money should be planned for the risky underground garage that is uncharacteristic of the historic neighborhood. FPCA sent a letter yesterday to City Council to inform them of our request for denial. Included in that email were an updated summary of the petition of 1,282 signatures and the list of 129 public comments.
Please consider taking this opportunity to address City Council with a similar letter. The sample letter, which can be edited will be sent to Mark Massey, the Clerk of Council <MMassey@savannahga.gov>. If asked, he will share your comments with City Council and add your letter to the pubic record. Please take advantage of this small window of time to send a message.
Letters can also be sent directly to members of City Council:
Mayor Van Johnson II <mayorjohnson@savannahga.gov>
At-Large 1, Carol Bell <Carol.Bell@savannahga.gov>
At-Large 2, Alicia Miller Blakely <ABlakely01@Savannahga.Gov>
District 2, Detric Leggett <DLeggett@savannahga.gov>
District 1, Bernetta Lanier <BLanier@savannahga.gov>
District 3, Linda Wilder-Bryan <LBryan@savannahga.gov>
District 4, Nick Palumbo <NPalumbo@savannahga.gov>
District 5, Estella Edwards Shabazz <EShabazz@savannahga.gov>
