Northglenn Protest Procedure
If you are signing this protest and believe that your address is within 300 feet of the property being considered for rezoning (i.e. green space area just north of the fence-line north of Karl's Farm) PLEASE include your street number and the address in the comments. The reason I ask for this deals with Section 11-6-4 (a) (3) (E) (iv) - Protest Procedure (pg. 164) of the Northglenn Unified Development Ordinance where Item b. in this section states:
A protest against a rezoning shall be signed by the owners of at least 20 percent or more of the area of land included in the proposed zoning change or at least 20 percent of the area of land extending a radius of 100 feet from the land that is subject to the zoning change, excluding public rights-of-way.
Even though the ordinance requires only people 100 feet from the property the City sent out a re-zoning to everyone that lives within 300 feet of the property that is being considered for re-zoning. Once we get 20% of the signature the threshold for City Council to pass the rezone jumps to 3/4ths of all council members to vote in favor (see Item c.)
