Request on the next Public Consultation

Dear all

 The DCC are due to revert on the next stage of this proposed plan. This will be revised plans and drawings and another public information event, timeline for this is unknown currently. 

In the interests of the key stakeholders affected by this proposed scheme, we have been trying to request that the DCC's next consultation is a proper meeting (face to face) with residents and the Key decision makers / Engineers of the project. This will allow a proper Question & Answer session and a formal response by the DCC as part of the next consultation phase. We have also requested this as part of the Agenda in the DCC North Central Committee meetings. The DCC are reluctant to do this and they are pressing for another Public Information Event. 

As you can appreciate the last Public Information event was very informal, had no minute taking and lacked proper information and answers. Also the DCC keep on playing down the opposition to the scheme by their own skewed stats based on the online consultation. There is a lack of clarity on if an environmental impact assessment was conducted, also the lack of clarity on removing key right hand turns proposed by the scheme and traffic free flow. Also lack of clarity on the houses who do not have a driveway and where to park their cars, as well as other issues.

Dear sirs 

I request that the next stage of the proposed public consultation on the Gracefield Road to Vernon Avenue Active travel plan takes the format of a proper meeting/ question and answer session with Senior DCC officials responsible for the scheme. This format of consultation is crucial to residents and key stakeholders and is the best inclusive format. This format is being requested in lieu of a Public Information Event. Please note, there have been requests for same through the DCC north central area committee meetings. I look forward to this request being accepted and acknowledgement of request .
