This is a heartfelt appeal, born from the concern for our community in Sparkbrook, Birmingham. We are residents directly affected by the proposed development of a 17 bed HMO at 106 Sampson Road, and we are deeply distressed by the potential implications of this project. Our community is a vibrant, closely-knit fabric that risks being damaged by such disruptive planning propositions.

The application will result in more noise, traffic (only 6 parking spaces allocated for 17 beds), environmental issues, waste management, as well as not be in keeping with the community character.

Moreover, research shows that rapid and unsolicited changes to residential communities can have detrimental effects on local cohesion and mutual support (source: Journal of Urban Studies, 2019). We fear this proposed project would only serve to destabilize an otherwise harmonious environment. 

This is about preserving the nature of our community, its spirit, and its charm. We firmly believe that any development should be in the best interest of the community and not contrary to it. Hence, we strongly oppose the planning application for 106 Sampson Road, Sparkbrook, Birmingham, B11.
