Oppose Solar Farm Planning Applications in the Beane Valley

Oppose Solar Farm Planning Applications in the Beane Valley
The Issue
We are a group of concerned residents, local businesses and community groups from the Beane Valley and surrounding villages - Luffenhall, Cumberlow Green, Ardley, Cromer, Clothall, Cottered, Weston, Rushden, Mill End, Shaw Green and Roe Green in Hertfordshire united in our opposition to the proposed solar farm developments in our beautiful community.
While we recognise the importance of renewable energy, we believe that these projects pose significant risks to our local environment, wildlife, and the character of our valley.
The proposed solar farms and battery storage plants will cover 1,000 acres of green belt countryside and threaten to disrupt the natural beauty of Beane Valley, impacting local wildlife habitats. We are not against solar energy, but we believe that there are more suitable locations for such developments that do not compromise our cherished landscape.
Our community urges the planning authorities to consider the long-term impact on our community and explore alternative sites that would be less disruptive.
Communities deserve a say in how and where we transition to renewable energy sources we should be able to choose solutions that respect our environmental concerns while meeting energy goals.
Let us ensure that our community voice is heard and our concerns are taken into account before any irreversible damage is done, please sign the community petition to protect the Beane Valley.
Our community needs your support to protect Beane Valley. By signing this petition, you are joining us in urging the local councils to consider refusing the planning application and explore alternative sites for the solar farm.
Together, we can ensure that our community’s voice is heard and that our valley remains a place of natural beauty for future generations.
It is not just a place it's a community!
So please sign this petition today.
Thank you for your support.

Solar Plant Developments:
1). Lightrock Power Limited - Munches Solar Farm Power & Battery Plant 530 acres adjoining the Beane Valley Solar Plant North Hertfordshire District Council planning application 25/01947/FP - Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), ground mounted solar farm, associated infrastructure, and access development.
2). Renewable Energy Systems Limited (RES) - Beane Valley Solar Farm Power & Battery Plant, 200 acres. East Herts Council planning application 3/24/2245/FUL - installation and operation of a solar farm including co-located energy storage facilities, onsite substation, battery storage units and ancillary infrastructure.
As residents of the local area we are deeply concerned about the cumulative impact these proposals will have on our community, landscape, and environment. Together, these two projects would industrialise over 1,000 acres of open countryside, permanently altering the character of our rural surroundings.
