Meet Rudy.  

Hatched in May, Rudy has been hand-raised by our two young sons from day one. He’s not just a rooster — he’s a beloved pet, a garden companion, and a source of daily joy. Our 4-year-old proudly picks cherry tomatoes from the garden each morning just to hand-feed Rudy his favorite snack. Rudy, in turn, watches over his hens with loyalty and care, keeping order and protecting them with unwavering devotion.

If this policy is enacted, we’ll be forced to find Rudy a new home. And if no suitable home can be found, we face an impossible choice: either put him down or incur a $75 daily fine — a heartbreaking and unsustainable burden for our family. Our boys would be devastated to lose their feathered friend, and we would struggle to explain why a pet they’ve loved and cared for must suddenly disappear.

The next council meeting is in October - we need as many voices as possible.
