We have an urgent update regarding the proposed 7-Eleven gas station at Broadhead Road and Garden Valley Parkway. Studies, including a 2019 Columbia University-Johns Hopkins report, show that benzene and other harmful chemicals from gas stations can impact health up to 524 feet away. Both Buffalo Ridge homes and Robbie E Howard Junior High fall within this dangerous zone.

The EPA School Siting Guidelines caution against locating schools within 1,000 feet of a gas station. Our school is dangerously close, and the health of our children and neighbors is at risk.
