Dear Supporter,

🚒 ⏳ There are now just 7 days until the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Board decides the future of Helensburgh Fire Station.

SFRS senior leadership have now however formally recommended that Helensburgh moves from 24 hour wholetime cover to a Day Shift Duty System. 

In simple terms, this means:

❌ No wholetime firefighters overnight

❌ No wholetime firefighters at weekends

🚒 Wholetime firefighters on duty Monday to Friday during daytime hours

🚒 On call firefighters providing cover outwith these hours

The recommendation has now been made and will be considered by the SFRS Board on 22 June.

Since this campaign began:

✅ Hundreds attended public meetings

✅ Thousands engaged with the campaign

✅ Residents submitted consultation responses

✅ Firefighters raised operational concerns

✅ A motion has been lodged in the Scottish Parliament

✅ Local MSPs and MPs have voiced their concerns

The Board will shortly decide whether to approve the recommendation.
