The Issue

Having chosen Pearland, TX as the place for my children to grow up in a safe and nurturing environment, I am deeply concerned about the recent proposal known as CUP2025-0432. This proposal seeks a conditional use permit for a grocery store within a neighborhood zoning services district, particularly at an already congested intersection at the corner of Yost Boulevard and FM-518. The proximity of this commercial endeavor to the residential cul-de-sac on Roland Rue St. poses a direct threat to the tranquil life we've all cherished in our community.

As a single mother who has called Pearland home for the past 11 years, I feel compelled to stand against this development that endangers the safety and security of my children. The landscape buffer reduction from the mandated 30 feet to a mere 9 feet further erodes any sense of privacy and protection for residents who live directly behind the proposed site. This grocery store, open 7 days a week, would bring increased traffic and disruption, not only amplifying noise levels but also raising safety concerns due to its location across from a fire station.

No resident on Roland Rue St. supports this proposal, as it jeopardizes the peace and spirit of our neighborhood. Each who signed this petition values the harmonious living safely in Pearland which the City offers its residents.

By signing this petition, you are sending a clear message to city planners and zoning officials that the safety, health, and well-being of the Pearland community must come first. Join us in opposing CUP2025-0432 to preserve the peace and residential integrity we hold dear. Sign now to protect our neighborhood!
