Freedom of information - Underhill South CPZ
We have learned a lot from freedom of information requests that have been submitted.
The Council has not undertaken any analysis of the quality of transport links in the Underhill South area. It has also taken no specific action to measure air quality in the Underhill South CPZ trial area. This is despite the Council's declaration of a climate emergency being put front and centre as rationale.
In March 2026, the Council reported that it had only issued 55 residential parking permits in the Underhill South controlled parking zone. It is not clear how the zone can be financially sustainable with such a low up-take and there may be heavy reliance on penalty charge notices and visitor parking.
