🚨 CALGARY BYLAW UPDATE: Why Operation Blue Paws is Needed Now More Than Ever 🐾
As many of you may have seen on CBC Calgary this week, the City of Calgary is officially cracking down on aggressive pets, introducing heavier fines and stricter rules following serious animal incidents in our communities.
While the city focuses on punitive measures, it highlights exactly why we need a proactive, standardized system. Protective animals exist, but without consistent provincial standards, emergency responders, landlords, and the public remain at risk.
Operation Blue Paws is the solution. By introducing standard police training benchmarks designed for civilian use, secure responder registries, and confidential master disengagement cues, we can protect vulnerable Albertans while ensuring our first responders can enter any home safely.
We are just 26 signatures away from our 200-signature milestone! Please take 10 seconds to share this petition link with your local Alberta networks or community pages. Let’s show our decision-makers that Albertans want proactive safety, not just reactive fines without providing a proactive framework or certified guardrails to prevent these risks.
Thank you for your incredible support! 💙
