Open Up Lyndale Drive

The Issue

I have lived in Norwood Flats, Winnipeg Manitoba my entire life. Since 2020, the city has been shutting down Lyndale Drive for walkers and bikers. During the pandemic, it made sense. That was 4 years ago. It still locked down every day of the week, and cars are forced to drive 30 k/h despite it not being a school zone.

I am an avid walker AND biker, and yet I still think we need to open the road. We can't have it be 30 k/h AND have the road shut down. I need to get to work every day. I can't take other roads because of pot holes. Shutting down the other roads to fix the potholes will make it impossible to leave my neighbourhood without getting pulled over, as I live on a bay that is bordered by Lyndale Drive on both ends.

I'm sure I'm not the only person who feels this way. If you agree with this, please sign the petition. If you have any questions or want to hear other reasoning, (which I have plenty of) please email me:

norwoodflatspetition@gmail.com

***UPDATE***
After speaking with many people in Norwood, it seems that no one is able to contact Matt Allard, as he deliberately ignores this particular issue. I have reached out to Mayor Gillingham’s office and they are going to see what they can do.

Thank you to everyone who is taking part in this!
