The City of Bakersfield is officially reviewing plans for the brand-new Riverview Marketplace, a modern outdoor retail and dining center designed to elevate our local community. While a Whole Foods Market has been confirmed, locals have been demanding a Shake Shack for a while.

Right now, if Bakersfield residents want Shake Shack, they have to drive over an hour to Fresno or two hours to Los Angeles. With our city's booming population and vibrant food culture, I think it's safe to say that Bakersfield deserves a Shake Shack location.

The upcoming Riverview Marketplace development by DJM Capital Partners would be the absolute perfect spot for Shake Shack to make its Bakersfield debut. We already have two equivalents here in town called Shake N Buns. While we love our local burger spots, Bakersfield has grown large enough to support a major national brand like Shake Shack.
