Every April, sportsmen and women of this state purchase their annual fishing license, with the hopes that this year will see better opportunities.
Unfortunately, the license sales occur BEFORE the List of Agreed to Fisheries is even completed (behind locked doors) and before the seasons are published.
This year, we are asking everyone to hold off on the purchase of a new fishing license until AFTER the completion of the secret meetings. Until we see the seasons that WDFW has agreed to behind locked doors.
Since fishing has been closed, waiting to purchase a license is not too much of an inconvenience, and the loss of the early sales revenue could help send a message to the Department for better transparency and equality in our fisheries.
Recreational fishers of this state have once again been taken advantage of in secret meetings, where we are not given a fair seat at the table.
PLEASE, HELP SEND A MESSAGE TO THE WDFW. DO NOT PURCHASE A LICENSE UNTIL AFTER THE OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF THE SEASONS.
