Hi everyone,
Huge thanks for signing the Open Letter to Thomas Hübl and all speaking at The Collective Trauma Summit 2025 to end the silence about genocide in Palestine and stop spiritual bypassing. Your voice really matters!
The Summit ends tomorrow - but it will continue to sell lifetime access to its video content. It will continue to have influence around the world. And it will continue to gather annually. So we won't stop here.
We are at 82 signatures - can you help us reach 100 within the next hour by sharing and contacting peers, friends, students, mentors, teachers, Facebook communities, instagram account holders to sign and spread the word? Here is the custom weblink for this petition: https://www.change.org/endspiritualbypassing
I've been contacting people with large eg instagram followings with the following message to ask them to sign and repost, with some success. For example, Dr Rana Tayara, senior lecturer and trauma specialist, has signed and shared to her 50k+ followers (thank you Rana!) https://www.instagram.com/drranatayara/ Please feel free to copy and paste! Together we can make this send ripples throughout the wellness world:
"Hi there, would you be up for signing and sharing this petition with your followers - calling for change in the wellness / healing world in terms of naming the genocide in Palestine? If this got traction it could really contribute to shifting the conversation. The wellness industry is a multi trillion dollar one as I’m sure you’re aware - what it does or doesn’t speak has a huge influence on culture in general https://www.change.org/endspiritualbypassing"
I've had feedback today from some people that the petition needed some clarification. People have responded to say Thomas Hübl DOES speak about Palestine. As posted on recent insta post @irma_kinga:
"He speaks of “suffering”. Of “war”. Of “conflict” and “peace” in general. Even of building “collective liberation” and “transformation”.
But he, and others speaking at the Collective Trauma Summit, STILL, after two years, and many, many Palestinian, international and even Israeli organisations and bodies naming it so, do not name genocide. Do not name colonialism. Do not name apartheid. Do not name the structural systems of oppression and Western-backed violence that continue to perpetuate this mass collective trauma on Palestinian people even as there is a ‘ceasefire’. A ceasefire which Israel has already violated 38 times in the last days (see @khaledbeydoun). This is epistemic violence, collective denial, and its own kind of colonial oppression. It is complicity."
This is the point the petition aims to make. This is spiritual bypassing at work.
The text of the petition has been updated accordingly and very slightly to reflect this and to make sure it is clearer. I hope this doesn't alter your support - I imagine it won't (but write back if so). But in case anybody asks you or responds the same - hopefully this makes it crystal clear.
Please also, if you can, send an email directly to the Collective Trauma Summit to express your dissatisfaction and disagreement with this very point - please send an email directly to the team and flood them with emails: onlinecoursesupport@thomashuebl.com Many have and received the same stock responses - that the Summit "cannot address every active conflict around the world". (See substack article for more context on this: https://irmaallen.substack.com/p/dear-trauma-healing-world
This is absolutely not good enough. We're glad you agree.
This is OUR petition, OUR statement - please treat it as such and spread it wide and far..
In solidarity x
