Thank you to everyone who has signed and shared our petition!

In just four days, we've collected 84 signatures from residents and players across the Conejo Valley. It's encouraging to see so many people supporting better access to our community's public recreation facilities.

We've also taken our first step toward getting the policy changed.

On October 13, around 6:15 PM, I recorded a video at Westlake Village Community Park showing large portions of the synthetic turf fields sitting empty during AYSO's exclusive reservation hours (4:00–8:30 PM).

This is just one documented example of an issue many of us have observed for years: valuable public fields remaining unused while adult recreational players have limited access.

Today, we emailed city Parks and Recreation staff, including department management, sharing the video, our petition, and a request to meet and discuss practical solutions.

Our suggestions include:

  • Allowing community access to unused field space
  • Establishing designated adult pickup soccer hours
  • Exploring more flexible reservations without disrupting youth sports

What's Next?

We're now awaiting a response from the city.

In the meantime, let's reach 100 signatures! We're only 16 away.

If you haven't already, please share this petition with two friends, teammates, or neighbors who believe public parks should serve the whole community.
