The children in Year 5/6 at Peter Lea Primary School wish to open a youth centre in our local community of Fairwater. We propose that the Welsh Government provide funds and support to help us open a youth centre for all the children and young adults in the community. 

Children in Fairwater are spending too much time on their phones and too much time stuck at home. A youth centre would provide alternative games and activities for the children to do, to get them away from their screens. This would also benefit children by helping them socialise with others and increase their independence. A youth centre would also be a safe place for children to gather.

Some children in the community are struggling with their mental health and their relationships. A youth centre would be a place where children can relax and to talk to people who can help them. There would also be activities that children with disabilities can access at the centre.
