I've always cherished the moments spent playing trading card games (TCGs) with my friends and coworkers. These games aren't just about the cards and strategies; they're about camaraderie, the joy of challenging yourself, and the unique community that forms around a shared interest. However, in Camden, Arkansas, there's a glaring absence: we lack a local game store where enthusiasts can gather, play, and purchase products.

Camden is a vibrant community with a significant defense sector that attracts engineers and hobbyists alike, yet, there's no local hub for us enthusiasts who want to immerse ourselves in the world of games. Without a game store, residents of Camden are compelled to travel to neighboring towns just to find a place where they can engage in their passions. This not only affects our local community bond but also discourages people from considering Camden a long-term home.

A game store in Camden would not only cater to the interests of current residents but also act as a magnet for newcomers. Such a venue would provide a place to meet, socialize, and participate in tournaments, fostering a supportive and lively community.

Evidence from other towns shows that game stores can become cultural hubs. According to a study by ICv2, the U.S. hobby game market reached $1.675 billion in 2020, showcasing the growing demand and market for such spaces.

I urge the people who want a local place to play to sign this petition to show interest. By establishing a game store, we provide a beloved community space that enhances social interactions, supports local talent, and attracts potential engineers and tech professionals who seek a rounded lifestyle.

Join us in making Camden a more lively and attractive place to live. Sign this petition to show interest in opening a game store to Camden, Arkansas, and help create a stronger, more connected community.
