Borehamwood has lost Santander, Barclay's, Halifax, Lloyd's, HSBC and Natwest.

Now the only working free ATMs on the Shenley Road high street are at Nationwide and Sainsbury's — these frequently run out of cash due to demand.

Many people still require access to in-person banking facilities, as well as cash at all times. It is unacceptable that the loss of so many ATMs is turning Shenley Road into a cashless high street.

We therefore call upon the banks, or Hertsmere and Elstree & Borehamwood Councils, to open up a banking hub on Shenley Road to ensure that in-person banking facilities remain available to all those that need them and to ensure that there is sufficient access to cash at all times.
