A large number of Queens university students have shown nothing but disrespect to the people of this beautiful city by the increasing carelessness of their actions when it comes to the covid pandemic that we are all facing. We’re in a lockdown, but the students flock to the pier and parks in large groups and now have their second outbreak on campus in the last 2 months. They are also responsible for countless closures of businesses and self isolation of the people whom they’ve come in contact with that work at these businesses forcing them to stay home without pay and putting them at risk of hospitalization or worse. They have also been responsible for park closures around the university more than once. The campus and residence needs to be closed down and the students sent home to do their virtual classes from home instead of in the residence. With the exception of the students who need to physically be in a classroom for practical learning etc. No one else should be allowed to remain in our city that they show such little respect to. And furthermore, why are they not being reprimanded for their actions! It’s a STAY HOME ORDER. They are clearly not staying home, but we aren’t allowed to see our families? The City of Kingston needs to stop giving them special treatment and start punishing them for their actions. The university threatened expulsion last year, let’s see this start happening! And let’s see some fines being handed out!
